The prospect of stepping into the clinic manager role, particularly for someone without prior managerial experience, can be both exhilarating and daunting. The fear of making mistakes or being unable to lead and motivate the staff effectively can be overwhelming. 

When I was thrown into a management role, it was sink or swim. I made so many mistakes along the way. I advocate for any new people in management to be given the tools to support them in their role. I remember how hard it was for me because I was not given any tools. I advocate for managers to be given the tools so they can be the best they can.   

It reduces overwhelm and anxiety about the role, this is not about HR because no doubt you will have other people and this is about leading with compassion, not micro-managing or command and control.
